About Project
This product was developed within the ”Nistru TruthBridge” Hackathon, organized by Transparency International-Moldova with the support of the project “Building sustainable and inclusive peace, strengthening trust and social cohesion in Moldova”, funded by the UN Peacebuilding Fund, implemented by OHCHR, UNDP, and UN Women. We are a passionate team of technology and innovation, winning a hackathon and focused on developing an innovative solution for detecting fake news. Through an advanced system of narrative analysis in Romanian and Russian languages, we aim to contribute to combating erroneous information and manipulation online.
We are currently working on the first version of our web application, focusing on improving detection algorithms and increasing system efficiency. We want to develop and win new projects, with the plan to expand our activity towards the development of applications for platforms such as WordPress, Android and iOS, as well as extensions for Chrome and Firefox browsers.
We strive to become a trusted source in the fight against fake news and offer technological solutions that are both effective and affordable to combat this phenomenon in the digital age.
For two days, January 26th and 27th, 2024, we developed the first prototype of the project, guided by mentors from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Georgia.
Transparency International Moldova and UNDP selected our team as the winner of the hackathon.
Within 3 months, we developed the first version of the web application.
The app analyzes news in Romanian and Russian.
Search and identify up to 6 narratives in each language.
We aim to find funding sources and collaborate with others to take the idea to the next level.
We see enormous potential in working with anti-disinformation agencies, media trusts and the private sector that need an extra level of protection against disinformation. In the future, we want to develop applications for platforms such as CMS, CRM, Android and iOS, desktop OS as well as browser extensions.
